The Winter Youth Crime Awareness Camp Continues

The past two weeks have been awesome with the kids in Sharpeville at the Winter Youth Crime Awareness/ Prevention Camp. The youth camp was launched on the 27th of June and was on daily from 9am to 3pm till the 29th. The second week of the camp began on the 4th of July to the 6th and tomorrow, the 11th of July will commence the final week of the camp. The last day of the camp is Thursday the 13th of July.

The turn-out was amazing and very unexpected. What started as a youth camp for grades 7-11 turned out to be a camp from six year olds to Matric students. The number of children in attendance were more than eighty every day and daily, the children got breakfast and lunch at the camp.

Last Thursday, the 6th of July, Mr George Lephoto, Founder of Phothiza Holdings asked the kids as he closed the session for the weekend, “Would you like us to do this again next year?” The response was a resounding “Yes!!!”

As Phothiza Holdings, we believe that we can change our communities, one child at a time. One holiday at a time.
